I am sure most people are aware of the acronym RSS, but may not be fully clear on what it is.
RSS is a an arrangement that allows regularly updated web information to be distributed.
The channel of distribution used to feed news to a user is the RSS Feed. It is also known as a Web Feed.
RSS is an acronym for Rich Site Summary. Some use the acronym Really Simple Syndication.
Syndication occurs when a website makes web feeds available, so that newly added content can be easily provided to those interested.
The Benefits of RSS Feeds:
- RSS Feeds allows people to easily view recently updated news and publications from favoured sites, without spending time checking every site
- there is no need to sign up to a site for their newsletter, thus e privacy is retained
- RSS Feeds make it simple for one to stay informed an current
Appearance of RSS Feeds:
RSS Feeds appear as a list from each site, with the latest update at the top of the list. Therefore, you can glance at each item, which ascts as a news headline.
Each of these items link back to the original publication, so you can click on it to get the full story.
